Dinner at the Opera Gala
Our Dinner at the Opera Gala is fast approaching! Come show your support for ISO’s talented young musicians on Monday, April 11 at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers (Pier 62), with cocktails and a silent auction starting at 6:30 followed by dinner and dancing.
The Gala will feature operatic music performances by the ISO Symphony Orchestra, young artists from the Martina Arroyo Foundation’s Prelude to Performance program and young dancers from Dancing Classrooms. Proceeds will support free community concerts, scholarships, and tuition aid so that no child is ever turned away from participation in ISO’s ensembles because of a family’s financial situation.
ISO’s 2015/2016 focus program, OPERA 360, created in collaboration with The Metropolitan Opera Guild and the Martina Arroyo Foundation, introduces close to 360 young players from ages 6 to 19 in ISO’s eight ensembles to the beauty and joy of operatic music. ISO’s musicians learn to play an excerpt from a focus opera, study the opera with The Metropolitan Opera Guild Education Department and attend a performance at The Met. Young professional singers from the Martina Arroyo Foundation will sing arias at the Gala and perform again at the May 18th Jazz at Lincoln Center concert that will feature ISO Symphony, Concert Orchestra, and ISO Symphonic Band at Third Street.
Support our talented young musicians in one or more of the following ways:
- Buy tickets or a table and bring your friends
- Represent your child’s ensemble by getting a group of parents together to buy individual tickets to make a table
- Donate an item or service to our auction
- Solicit an auction donation from a friend or business
- And, always welcome, pledge financial support!
