Brian Worsdale

Known for his boundless energy and enthusiasm on and off the podium, Brian Worsdale has been leading ensembles on musical journeys for nearly two decades. He is a passionate advocate of the artist-as-citizen model, helping to make the world a better place through the powerful medium of music. He is the founder and conductor of the ISO Symphonic Band, now in its twentieth year of making music. This ensemble is unique to New York City as the only private youth wind symphony in the region.

He is the conductor of the Precollege Symphony of the Manhattan School of Music and artistic director and conductor of the Grand Street Community Band. Since 2010, Mr. Worsdale has been involved with Music for All, Inc. He is the director of the Orchestra Division and serves as manager and coordinator of the Honor Orchestra of America. He is also the artistic director and conductor at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts. Educated at the Manhattan School of Music and St. John’s University (B.S., Ch. Ed.), he studied conducting with Jonathan Strasser and trombone with David Finlayson. He has continued his conducting studies with Anthony Maiello of George Mason University.
