Laurel Stinson

Laurel Stinson teaches band at Midwood High School and is an active conductor and music educator around the New York metropolitan area. Her third season with the ISO organization, she is excited to lead the ISO Concert Band during it’s inaugural year. She also serves as Woodwind Coach and Assistant Conductor of the ISO Symphonic Band. Earning her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, she is currently in her 5th year of teaching in the New York City public schools and pursuing a Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in Conducting at Colorado State University, studying with Wes Kenney, Dr. Rebecca Phillips, and Dr. James Kim. Her past clarinet teachers include Dr. Richard Faria and J. Lawrie Bloom.


Laurel also is an active member of the Metropolitan Music Community. She serves as Assistant Conductor of the Grand Street Community Band and clarinet section leader of the Brooklyn Wind Symphony. Outside of music, she enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors.
