Molly Aronson

Cellist Molly Aronson is known for her “solidity and verve” (San Francisco Classical Voice), and has performed throughout the US and internationally. She has appeared on the Embassy Series in Washington, D.C., Chateau Festival in Paris, France and in Berlin, Germany, Chamber Players International, Luzerne Festival Series, Musica Classical at the Colombian Consulate, Mohawk Trails Concerts, the Interlochen Faculty Chamber Series, Classical at Cornelia Street, and has given chamber music performances with Amazonas as well as with the Larchmont Chamber Players at Carnegie Hall. She has toured with the Sernedip Piano Trio, RT9 Ensemble, Anderson Hill Trio, has been a concerto soloist with the Holyoke Civic Symphony, and has been a feature with the Opus One Chamber Orchestra, and Asian Cultural Symphony.

 

As a proponent of contemporary music, Molly frequently works with living composers premiering, performing, and recording their newly composed pieces. She has played on such series as the Bargemusic: Here and Now, Loudbox, Composer’s Voice, Spectrum NYC, Lex54 Concerts, Firehouse Space Concerts, Interlochen New Music Series, Wednesdays at the ‘Neu,’ and recently completed a Georgia tour presented by Live Oak Concerts with Schiele string quartet, featuring the music of composer Shelley Washington. Molly is currently the Music Director and cellist of Sanctuary Project, an aleatoric multi-disciplinary storytelling ensemble that develops works exploring the unique languages of dance, text, art and sound. She has also performed and acted in The Crook of Your Arm as a part of FRIGID, the NYC winter Fringe Festival

 

Not limited to the realm of classical music, Molly has performed at Radio City Music Hall, TD Gardens, Mohegan Sun, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and XL Center with such artists as Rod Stewart, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, Disturbed, 2Cellos, The Irish Tenors, Celtic Thunder, The Game of Thrones Live Experience, Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Recently she appeared with Vanessa Williams at Lincoln Center, Songwriter’s Orchestra at Le Poisson Rouge, Broadway Action Coalition, and played on Sessions at the Hempstead House jazz series.

 

Molly has held teaching positions as an adjunct cello instructor at SUNY Purchase, chamber music coach for the New York State Summer School of the Arts – Orchestral Studies, and was awarded a Teaching Fellowship to join the cello faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp. She is currently a Teaching Artist with the InterSchool Orchestras’ Symphony, and is on faculty at the Luzerne Music Center, Larchmont Music Academy, and Mozart Academy.
