ISO collaborates with a wide range of arts organizations and schools to enrich the ISO experience for its students and to provide services to the community.
The Guild has helped ISO create the OPERA 360 program to provide an enriched experience of opera through its teaching artists, who will introduce students to the operas from which they are learning to play excerpts.
Singers from the Martina Arroyo Foundation will take part in the OPERA 360 concerts, performing with Concert Orchestra and the ISO Symphony. Artists from the Foundation’s faculty will prepare the singers for their performances.
In a long-term partnership with the Ella Baker School, ISO conducts its Teaching Internship Program at the school, through which ISO students and coaches provide free music lessons to students at Ella Baker and other schools in the Julia Richman Education Complex.
Since its inception, the ISO at Turtle Bay Orchestra has rehearsed at the Turtle Bay Music School, which provides its auditorium free for our use. Turtle Bay Music School students receive a discount on ISO tuition and some ISO students study privately at Turtle Bay.
Concerts in Motion assists ISO in its outreach to community organizations where our ensembles perform free concerts.
